Michael Best & Friedrich has an opportunity in the Madison, Milwaukee, Raleigh, Salt Lake City, or Waukesha office for an Information & Research Services Specialist. The Information & Research Services Specialist provides both legal and non-legal research and reference services for attorneys, clients, and staff. Research will focus on, but is not limited to, litigation, patent, business and marketing intelligence for the Litigation, Intellectual Property, Transactional and Labor & Employment practice groups.
Provide competitive, business and market intelligence research and analysis
Develop and promote a knowledge management culture
Conduct legal research and synthesize information for attorneys, management, business development and others as requested
Track legislation, litigation, and patent applications
Perform citation checks and detailed case law research
Other special projects for the department
Provide training for attorneys and staff on legal research platforms
Education and Experience:
At least 2 years of professional library experience, preferably in a law library
Master's degree in Library and Information Studies from an ALA accredited graduate program is required
