Reference and Instruction Librarian University of Idaho College of Law Library – Boise ID
The University of Idaho College of Law Library seeks applicants for the position of Reference and Instruction Librarian at its Boise, Idaho location. The successful candidate will be a full-time, tenure-track member of the law faculty and will be appointed at the faculty rank of assistant professor or associate professor, depending upon experience and qualifications.
The Reference and Instruction Librarian will provide reference and research support services to law school students, faculty, and staff, members of the University community, the local legal community, the Idaho Supreme Court and Court of Appeals, and the general public; teach Introduction to Legal Research, Advanced Legal Research, or other research courses within the law school’s curriculum; help to develop, coordinate, and implement Law Library instructional programs and teaching services; prepare presentations, lectures, or other materials on specific legal research topics and use of the law library collection; assist with the supervision of student and part-time personnel; consult on collection development policies and decisions; and engage in scholarly, outreach, and teaching/instructional activities consistent with the tenure and promotion standards of the College of Law and the University of Idaho. The Reference and Instruction Librarian will work under the direct supervision and general direction of the Associate Directory of the Law Library – Boise.
The Law Library is located at the College of Law’s location in Boise, Idaho, which administers and manages the Idaho State Law Library pursuant to a Memorandum of Understanding with the Idaho Supreme Court. The Law Library participates in the Orbis Cascade Alliance, a consortium of 37 academic libraries in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, with access to over 28 million items.

Position Requirements: M.L.S. and J.D. (or their equivalent degrees) from ALA/ABA accredited schools are required.
