The Reference Librarian will provide legal reference services to the students and faculty of the law school, the University community, and the public. The incumbent will instruct students in legal research, including teaching Advanced Legal Research or similar courses. The position will also involve administrative duties within the law library, as well as participation on law school and University committees as assigned.
andidates must have a J.D. from an A.B.A. accredited school; M.L.S. or equivalent from an A.L.A. accredited program.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong knowledge of legal information sources; excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills; ability to work with a variety of people; strong service ethic.
This is a full-time, tenure-track faculty position where a good knowledge of both law and training as a professional librarian are required.
Previous experience as a reference librarian working in law libraries is preferred.
Use of the library’s OPAC software; Microsoft Office experience especially with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Occasional light lifting of books and other materials is required, up to 20 pounds.
