Collaborate with research and reference librarians to plan and deliver library services to law students, faculty and other patrons of the Law Library. Work as part of the research team to plan, support and deliver library services in support of the scholarship, teaching and research mission of the School of Law. Help develop programs to deliver resources to students, faculty and others through library orientation, reference desk assistance, training programs, and overall library functions. Assist with preparing training materials and teaching legal research applications to students in various clinics and doctrinal classes, as well as RA’s, journal students, externs, interns, etc. Participate in regularly taught legal research courses such as Advanced Legal Research. Assist in the development of programs to deliver and support empirical research and scholarship for faculty and students. Have regularly scheduled hours on the reference desk.
Participate in the instructional commitments of law librarians in the law school curriculum. Support the continuing efforts to improve existing courses, and assist with the development of specialized research courses such as short courses on Intellectual Property, Environmental Law, International Law, and other certificate subjects.
Work in collaboration with Technical Services department to create and maintain standards for digital materials. Develop efficient methods for creating and preserving long term digital library content. Revise and establish procedures for archival collection description and expansion of archival materials. Explore new methods of accessing and creating library metadata for use in a variety of discovery platforms. Implement advances in metadata and cataloguing to mmaximize intellectual access to collection information. Provide remote and onsite support for users of library digital content. Keep abreast of technological changes in the library profession to promote the library’s mission.
Contribute to overall planning, strategy, policies, collections, problem-solving and daily operations. Participate in the planning, development and evaluation of library services. The position reports to the Research Services and Content and Collection Services department heads.
The position is represented by a collective bargaining unit and will work some evening and weekend hours.

Demonstrated experience in using basic legal sources, both print and electronic materials.
Proficient experience with computerized applications (particularly legal research and library systems, library or archival management, or database management).
Demonstrated knowledge of bibliographic record principles and ILS operations.
Relevant work experience in an academic law library or professional legal experience.
A strong service orientation toward all library patrons with special attention to law faculty and students.
Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with initiative and flexibility in order to respond effectively to changing information needs.
Collegiality which fosters team building among librarians and staff so as to constantly improve service.
Active participation in the intellectual and administrative life of the Law School.
