We have an immediate opening for a Senior Network Engineer. This position can be based out of any of our seven U.S. offices (Century City, Los Angeles, New York, Newport Beach, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Washington, DC). The Sr. Network Engineer is primarily responsible for managing and supporting the firm’s enterprise network infrastructure in a team setting.
Provide top-level support and ownership of network computing infrastructure technologies in a global environment.
Optimize stability, availability, reliability and performance of networking infrastructure.
Lead or assist in resolving escalated incidents and participate in problem management activities.
Monitor and control infrastructure processes, and implement security measures to provide stable and secure systems platforms.
Conduct or assist the implementation of new or additional infrastructure technology to augment and improve infrastructure service.
Conduct and make recommendations on LAN & WAN resource, performance and capacity planning.
Maintain awareness of industry trends and their advantages so as to recommend technological improvements for the Firm.
Cross-train other IT staff in the use or maintenance of network technologies.
Requirements for the position include a demonstrated expert-level knowledge of WAN technologies including MPLS and Metro-Ethernet, Cisco IOS and Nexus routing and switching solutions. Profound knowledge and experience with routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Riverbed WAN acceleration, and packet tracing is required. Advanced knowledge of SAN connectivity in a Cisco UCS/NetApp FlexPod reference architecture environment is desired.
Solid grounding in core enterprise applications and technologies including Microsoft Exchange, SQL, Active Directory, VMware, and network security fundamentals is highly preferred.
Candidates must be internally motivated and self-driven for excellent results. Must be able to recommend sound and effective infrastructure designs that align with business objectives. The ability to proactively identify opportunities for improvement in the technical environment and in organizational processes is strongly desired. Must have strong leadership skills, providing project leadership as needed, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to work in a team or work independently on complex tasks with minimal technical and management guidance is required. Must be able to meet deadlines and deliver status updates to project team on a frequent basis. Four year college degree preferred.
