Coleman Karesh Law Library
The Law Library is an academic research library with the primary goal of supporting the work of the 50 faculty and 650 students of the School of Law, but which also actively serves the University community, state government, the bench and bar, and citizens of South Carolina. The Law Library is independently administered with a collection of more than 500,000 volumes, ever-increasing technological sophistication, and a staff of 16.
The Coleman Karesh Law Library has an opening for an entry level Reference Librarian. The Reference Librarian provides reference services to the entire Law School community, with the primary goal of supporting the work of approximately 50 faculty members and 650 law students. This position offers the unique opportunity to teach introductory legal research in a required year long integrated research and writing course. The Reference Librarian provides general and in-depth reference service in all areas of law (including American, international, and foreign law) to faculty, students and others at the Coleman Karesh Law Library; and shares departmental administrative responsibilities with other reference librarians on a rotating basis.
