The Coleman Karesh Law Library at the University of South Carolina School of Law seeks an enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and experienced colleague for the position of Access Services Librarian (ASL). This position manages all aspects of the Access Services Department, including circulation, course reserves, and interlibrary loan, and will supervise up to three full-time and numerous part-time employees. This is a non-tenure track faculty position reporting to an Associate Director of the Law Library.
The Access Services Librarian will be responsible for the supervision and organization of the Access Services Department including supervising, hiring, training, and evaluating managers and part-time employees. This individual will propose, implement, and review departmental policies and procedures and will also produce well-written circulation and interlibrary loan policy documentation, and patron-related educational and marketing materials. The successful candidate will maintain the circulation module of the III Millennium integrated library system and the OCLC WorldShare interlibrary loan system. This position supervises all aspects of stack and collection maintenance. The ASL will develop, supervise and maintain course reserves in all formats, including ensuring copyright compliance when appropriate, and supervise all aspects of the reserve collection, including but not limited to selection, weeding, and maintenance of the collection. This position also coordinates issues of equipment and facilities maintenance with the appropriate offices. This individual will help maintain and promote the law school's contribution to the University's open access institutional repository.
