We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Practice Management team working directly with the highly profitable Litigation group. The ideal candidate would exhibit strong intellectual curiosity and demonstrate a passion for process improvement and excellent project management capabilities. This position works closely with the Practice Group Chair to help develop and implement practice group objectives, while ensuring the efficient use of lawyer time on such activities. These objectives include, but are not limited to, business development and client service, financial management, professional development and recruiting. The practice manager shall also generally act as the liaison between staff departments and the leaders of assigned practice groups.
Work Experience & Abilities Required
College degree required; Master’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration or JD preferred.
5+ years as a business development professional in a professional services organization preferred; law firm experience or prior experience as a practicing attorney is a plus.
Strong proficiency with MS Office Products required, i.e. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel; CRM technology.
Experience leading complex RFP responses and negotiating sponsorships contracts.
Demonstrated ability to provide direction and guidance in business plan development efforts – at the individual, practice group and office levels.
Proven track record of developing professional working relationships and creating a consultative, advisory-type level of trust with attorneys.
Good understanding of the business of law, including finance, sales and marketing, staffing models and industry trends a plus.
Excellent project management, communication (oral & written) and interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel occasionally within the United States is required.
