This position partners with other areas of the Firm to develop insights, algorithms, and data outputs that support decision making, products, and technologies used throughout DWT. This position requires independent judgement and collaboration with both internal and external partners to proactively manage, analyze, report, and implement analytics programs, projects and tasks assigned.

Independently research data quality problems (and customer feedback) to create actionable and effective recommendations for data quality improvement.

Work to identify and implement processes in partnership with multiple teams that result in improved data quality in analytics solutions and source systems.
Partner with developers to support the effective development of quality data solutions.
Develop and manage libraries of measures, data definitions, and other standards to support data transparency and sharing.
Lead discovery processes with Firm stakeholders to identify and prioritize business requirements and expected outcomes.
Create clear and concise documentation tailored to business and technical audiences.
Maintain awareness and adherence of security measures, policies, methods and procedures that safeguard the integrity of and access to enterprise systems, files, and firm data. Promote a culture that promotes Information Security as an integral part of IT architecture and business processes.
Make strategic recommendations on data collection, integration and retention requirements, incorporating business requirements and knowledge of best practices.

5+ years’ practical experience with SAS, ETL, data processing, database programming and data analytics.
Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or related field.
Strong knowledge of querying relational databases.
Experience in modern data visualization tools (Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and Microsoft SQL Reporting Services (SSRS)).
Extensive experience collecting and analyzing data from both human and system sources.
Understanding of advanced SQL and ability to write and comprehend SQL queries.
Understanding of the need for traceability and auditability of sensitive data and demonstrates how this can be accomplished when developing a system or process.
Practical experience in using well designed data visualizations to surface insights and answer business questions.
Demonstrated ability to tune deliverables to meet the needs of the intended audience (peers, engineers, leadership, etc.).
Familiarity with common software development concepts such as recursion, inheritance, abstractions, encapsulation, refactoring for code reuse.
Demonstrated critical thought, emotional intelligence and ability to communicate complicated matters in a clear and concise manner.
Practical experience creating specs for data warehouse engineering team to build needed data views / processes in support of analytics.
Expertise in Excel automation using formulas, VBA, Power Query and pivot tables / charts.
Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm, composed manner required.
A strong attention to detail and quality control required.
Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and independently required.
Must be a team player and have ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Previous experience in a law firm or professional services organization, supporting a multi-office environment, a plus.
