The Technical Services Analyst is responsible for maintaining the firm’s ILS and OPAC, original and copy cataloging, serials control, vendor relationships, and responding to password requests.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Manages the online Integrated Library System (ILS, EOS) and bibliographic procedures such as MARC, RDA, and OCLC for processing all Research Services materials.
Manages and improves quality control for the online Integrated Library System (ILS, EOS) bibliographic records by deleting old records, adding new records and performing spot checks for data quality and consistency.
Establishes best practices for maintaining accurate, up-to-date bibliographic records and statistics of all Research Services holdings of print, and electronic serials subscriptions.
Researches and conducts original and copy cataloging domestic and international electronic and print resources.
Resolves problems for EOS internal users.
Educates staff on the use of EOS and bibliographic records.
Assists with configuring vendor links to EOS.
Manages and improves quality control for vendor contact information on all internal systems.
Processes password requests for attorneys and staff.
Assists with adding users to daily alerts.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of integrated library systems.
Knowledge of cataloging and classification practices and tools.
Familiarity with basic budgeting and expenses management.
Ability to learn new databases and apply resource applications.
Knowledge of the Firm’s Policies and Procedures.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong inter-personal skills and discretion.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited school, or equivalent degree required.
Two years’ experience supporting an ILS preferred.
